Introduction :

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a big gift to the country on the occasion of Viswakarma festival and on his birthday , which will directly benefit the needy and poor people. PM Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana.

This scheme implemented or comes with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the Department of Financial services (DFS), Ministry of Finance (MoF), Government of India.

Initially this scheme implemented for the five years 2027-28.

Aims and Objectives :

  1. Recognition of artisans and crafts people as vishwakarma
  2. Skill upgradation
  3. Upgradation of tools and support of better and modern tools
  4. Easy access to collateral free credit with low interest
  5. Incentive for digital transactions
  6. Provide platform for brand promotion
  7. Market link to growth of business
  8. Get the certificate and ID card

Coverage of Trades :

For the first time, 18 traditional trades have been included in the Vishwakarma scheme. At the same time, people joining under this scheme will have two types of skill training. This includes first basic and distance advanced training.

  2. Boat maker
  3. Armourer
  4. Blacksmith
  5. Hammer and tool kit maker
  6. Locksmith
  7. Sculptor
  8. Potter
  9. Cobbler
  10. Basket/mat/broom/coir weaver
  11. Barber
  12. Garland Maker
  13. Washer man
  14. Tailor
  15. Fishing net maker etc.

Incentives :

Under the Vishwakarma scheme, a toolkit incentive of Rs 15,000 will be provided to the beneficiaries. PM Narendra Modi also told about this in his speech after launching the scheme.
Also, the beneficiaries will get a stipend of Rs 500 per day and will also be provided with basic skill training.

  3. You will get a loan of Rs 100000 without security, which will have to be returned in 18 months and you can take more money later. And in second phase the loan upto 200000 and the repayment date
  4. Beneficiaries will get facilities like incentives.
