On Monday night (Nov. 27), SpaceX launched 23 more Starlink satellites into orbit using a Falcon 9 rocket that took off from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 11:20 p.m. EST (0420 GMT on Nov. 28).
The initial stage of Falcon 9 returned to Earth and landed vertically on the droneship “Just Read the Instructions” in the Atlantic Ocean near the Florida coast, approximately 8.5 minutes after takeoff.
Astrophysicist and satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell states that the Starlink network currently has over 5,000 operational spacecraft, providing internet service to people worldwide. However, this number is continuously increasing and is expected to grow significantly in the future. SpaceX has already been granted permission to launch 12,000 Starlink craft into Low Earth Orbit (LEO), and they have also applied for approval to deploy an additional 30,000 spacecraft.
